NEMI PLATFORM
The NEMI platform is a bottom-up initiative: everyone is encouraged to propose seminars, courses and other activities (link). Seminars take place on the third Tuesday of the month. Attendance is open to everyone!

Call for NEMI course proposals

NEMI wants to stimulate and broaden the EM users community by dedicated trainings. When you plan to organize an EM course that is of interest for the NEMI community you can ask for a NEMI grant to for example reduce access prize or cover beam time.

NEMI aims to lower the threshold to use EM and to broaden the EM user community. To this end we subsidize development of new courses or addition to existing courses to attract more participants.

You can apply for:

  • Subsidized entrance fee for Dutch users
  • Beamtime
  • Computer time

We do not subsidize commitment of local personnel.

Requests for an application form or any questions can be directed to Geertje at g.w.termaat-3@umcutrecht.nl before March 30th.

NEMI Day March 22, 2022

We are happy to announce the 2022 NEMI day will still be held as a live event on the 22nd of March at Naturalis Leiden.

General info

If you bought a ticket for the original event in November and are not able to join on the 22nd of March please let us know as soon as possible at necen@biology.leidenuniv.nl.

We still have a couple of spots available to join the NEMI day. To register please send an email to necen@biology.leidenuniv.nl with your name, email, affiliation and dietary restrictions.

Below you find the program for the day. We are looking forward to a number of interesting talks and exciting poster presentations. Due to the rescheduling of the event, there are still two timeslots we hope to fill in the next week. We’ll share the definitive program with you as soon as possible.

How to get there

The NEMI day will be held at the auditorium of Naturalis Leiden (Darwinweg 2, Leiden). There are parking spaces at the back of the museum, parking tickets are available in the museum and cost €7,50 per day. Naturalis is also easy to reach by public transport. If you are arriving by train, exit Leiden central station at the LUMC side. The walking route is clearly marked from there. You can also take a bus from Leiden Central train station and get off at the Darwinweg/Naturalis bus stop, right in front of the entrance. Once you are inside there will be signs pointing you toward the auditorium.

Covid measures

Because of the recently updated covid measures the use of facemasks and QR-codes is no longer mandatory. Additionally it would have been possible to increase the maximum number of visitors from 150 to 240. In light of the current high infection rate we chose not to, to ensure that people are able to keep 1,5 m distance if they want to.
